First United Methodist Chapel is excited to feature first time performers singer/songwriters Tom Proutt and Emily G Gary. Known as the duo “Tom and Emily,” they began working together in 2004, and since that time they have recorded both adult and children’s music, contributed to numerous projects, taught, and performed both separately and together. They have also played on NPR radio.
Based in Charlottesville, Go Figure is a piano-fiddle duo made up of Janet Muse and Mike Dunn. Playing together since 2004, they offer a lively, lyrical, and exhilarating take on traditional Celtic and American folk music. Over the years, they have delighted audiences throughout Virginia and points beyond. This year marks their third appearance at First Night Virginia.

First Night Virginia is an annual community celebration of the arts that began in Charlottesville in 1982 and is the second oldest First Night in the country. 2015 is the 33nd annual festival of the arts with many family-friendly activities on and around the historic Downtown Mall.
