...to a “Night of Possibilities." That’s what the New Year is all about. And that’s the magical atmosphere First Night brings to our community every year.

We look forward to this year, our 27th celebration this December 31, which will include many favorites, such as the Children’s Processional, led this year by the Albemarle High School Band. Thanks to a partnership with SNL Financial, we’re featuring something exciting and new at the Pavilion - the high-flying BMX Bike Show. And thanks to the generosity of the Paramount Theater, we’re presenting Robbin Thompson, one of Virginia’s most celebrated singer-songwriters. As your night of possibilities unfolds, you may also encounter a giant python, learn to tango, be hypnotized, and meet a lady walking inside a balloon!...

News from First Night
First Night© Virginia is first and foremost about community, so we hope you'll join us in the Community Processional starting at 6:30 pm, just outside of the Omni. Your kids can make noisemakers, hats, and drums at the Creation Station, so bring them along to liven up the proceedings. New this year, the Albemarle High School Band will lead the way!

BMX STUNT SHOW – New this year at the PAVILION!
Showcasing both ramp and flatland BMX stunts, Keith King BMX Bike Stunt Show will amaze and thrill you with heart stopping maneuvers.

FIREWORKS at 9:00!
What would First Night© be without the annual fireworks display? Once again, we start them early so your little ones can enjoy one of the best displays in central VA. There is no better way to start off the New Year than with a bang... literally.

FOOD AND FUN at the Pavilion
Our First Night© traditions grow, as we bring you more family entertainment this year at the Pavilion. The Processional will lead us to find inflatables from Cville Inflatables; plus loads of yummy food from local vendors. Not to be missed-donuts and hot ciocollata!
