When Ban Caribe begins to play, the audience
begins to move. Few can resist their blend
of Calypso, rhythm and blues, and Latin swing,
held together with pulsating drums. Master
percussionist and singer Kevin Davis formed
the band after years of work with world music
ensembles and study in Puerto Rico, Dominican
Republic, and Jamaica. His compositions are
spiritually inspired by the rhythmic chants
of African music. |
