and First Film presents an engrossing group
of films-short, long, fictional, and documentary-exploring
the theme "Home Grown." First Film
is a noncompetitive, community-oriented forum
designed to celebrate the art of film through
the work of amateur and professional Virginia
filmmakers. After the program, you're invited
to join some of the filmmakers for a discussion
of their work.

STILL LIFE WITH DONUTS - 56 minutes in duration
Mark
Edwards and Mary Michaud's 2003 documentary
explores the Belmont neighborhood of Charlottesville,
VA. Although only 5 years have passed since
this slice of life was recorded, a trip
down memory lane serves as a reminder that
the ever changing world starts in our own
backyard.
This
screening will be followed by a brief Q&A
with the filmmakers!

film is a rousing rockumentary that captures
the energy and passion of the legendary
live music scene that percolated out of
Charlottesville during the heady years of
the 1970s and 1980s. This is a special advance
