6:15, 6:45, 7:15 and 7:45 pm – Spirit Walk

Come commune with Spirits from an earlier time at the First Night Spirit Walk. The Spirit Walk is a 30-minute guided tour of Historic Charlottesville, in which participants encounter the apparitions of the town’s previous inhabitants.


Each tour is limited to only 25 individuals - please arrive early to secure your tour.


4:15 pm – Unique Endings – Maplewood Cemetery Tour

Have you ever wondered about causes of death in the 19th century? Join the Albemarle Charlottesville Historical Society on New Year's Eve for "Unique Endings", a cemetery walking tour focusing on some of the more unusual deaths experienced by the residents of Maplewood Cemetery. The tour begins at 4:15 pm at the Maple Street entrance to the cemetery and will last approximately 45 minutes.


3:00-6:15 pm – Open House, ACHS

Farm Exhibit: Albemarle Charlottesville Historical Society at McIntire Buildng 200 Second St. NE, to view our new exhibit, Historical Farms of Albemarle County. This exhibit features the history as well as photographs of some of Albemarle County’s oldest farms, including Dovedale, Mooreland, Redlands, and several others. The Open House is 3:00-6:15 pm. To premiere on First Night.
